A world-renowned leader of cutting edge scientific, engineering & technology Research and Development services seek a Commercial Contracts Manager / Legal Contracts Specialist for an initial 4-month fixed-term contract assignment.

Salary - c.£40000-£57000 DOE + benefits (pro rata)
Duration - 4-5 months FTC (2 x positions available)
Location - London (central, zone 1)

Joining a wider team of legal & commercial contracts specialists this role will lead pre-award contractual review, negotiation and drafting to finalisation for research service, funding and collaboration contracts with prestigious UK & international customers/sponsors spanning private & Gov sectors.

Role Scope:
• Review, negotiation & drafting of scientific / academic research and research service related contracts
• Advising internal stakeholder groups (academic, technical & commercial) on legal and commercial elements within contracts, agreeing parameters and executing these within agreements
• Final agreement of contract in standard and bespoke forms + all related contract documentation stages (NDA, MOU, MTA etc)
Experience/expertise required:
• A proven Legal & Commercial Contracts Manager / Specialist
• Able to lead contract review, drafting and negotiation of standard and non-standard/bespoke forms autonomously
• Specific experience of Research services, R&D or similar closely aligned technical and regulated services contract forms.
- This can be on sponsor/consumer or proposer side ideally from academic, scientific, medical, pharma or engineering/technology services environments
• Knowledge across IP, Data ownership/transfer/GDPR, MTA, collaboration, confidentiality, liability, and wider costing and pricing elements within contracts
• Proven ability to ‘hit the ground running’ and quickly develop knowledge & understanding of required commercial/contracting specifics
• Degree level qualification, ideally Legal / Commercial Law related (LLB / LPC / LLM / CILEx) and/or IACCM
