An innovative and award-winning IT & Telco managed services business seek a Commercial Manager / Legal Contracts Manager with a potential near-term progression path to ‘Head of Commercial Contracts’.

Role – Commercial Contracts Manager
Salary - c.£50000-£60000 (DOE) + benefits & progression opportunity
Location – Crawley/Horsham, West Sussex (office based with potential for 1-day p/w from home)

The Commercial Contracts Manager will take up position within a hugely successful ICT supply, installation and managed services business with an ever-expanding FTSE 250 client base. The CCM will grow to become the legal contracts & commercial subject matter expert for the business with autonomy and ownership of full life cycle, customer engaged contract T&C’s review, negotiation, drafting and execution from both a legal a commercial/pricing perspective. The role has a primary focus on pre and post-award customer/sales contracts activity but will also take the lead on major supply-side & partner/teaming agreements and whole business commercial/contracting process best practice.

As a key support to the business’s existing pipeline and future growth the Commercial Manager will initially have full support from the incumbent Commercial Director, beyond being an excellent opportunity its own right this role is also being considered as a succession planning position with career progression to 'Head of Commercial/Head of Contracts’ level.

The business seeks a proven commercial & legal contracts manager / specialist with an expert eye for legal detail within B2B contracts, remaining ‘commercially agile’ to mitigate legal risk while maximising commercial advantage in all business contractual agreements.

Experience of legal and commercial contracts management related to IT, Telco or technology/engineering services is preferred BUT applications from CCM professionals from wider sectors backgrounds will be welcomed as long as the transferable contracts T&C’s review, drafting and negotiation for varying service and technology contract forms at pre & post-sale/award can be demonstrated.
Key experience required for Commercial Manager application:

- Proven experience at Commercial Manager / Legal Contracts Manager level with the ability to build credibility and trust internally & externally
- Degree level qualified (Law, Business or Finance preferred) and/or professional qualification such as IACCM
- Experience of leading the full analysis, review, negotiation and execution of ICT, technology and/or engineering service contract forms (Product supply, installation and through life managed services) from pre to post-sales award stages.
- Commercial and Legal contractual input from bid / tender stages
- Able to personally draft and formulate contract T&C’s in standard and non-standard / bespoke forms with a focus on risk mitigation and commercial advantage.
- Maintain and develop internal and external relationships through contractual negotiations (Sales, Customer, Supplier)
- Commercial agility: pragmatic in approach to negotiation to balance trade-off between legal risk, price, cost and commercial advantage
- Hands-on ownership of all related contractual documentation (NDA, MOU’s, SOW etc)
- Experience crossing into commercial finance & pricing elements within contracts will be an advantage (not a pre-requisite)
- Agility to adapt an evolving business and expanding technology service product offering.
