A highly successful and rapidly expanding IT/Software services business have an opportunity for a 2-5+ years experienced Commercial & Legal Contracts Specialist to lead UK and international contracts review, drafting and negotiation activity.

The Commercial Contracts Specialist will be joining a software systems design, development and services business with long established UK and international footprint which is enjoying expansive success.

The business seek a talented contracts specialist / senior commercial officer / in-house commercial paralegal or legal contracts manager with the technical ability, legal contracts knowledge, energy and enthusiasm to lead group-wide (UK and International) legal contracts administration support.

The role’s focus will be to provide expert advice and delivery to ensure all business contractual agreements are legally sound, risk mitigated, commercially advantageous and mutually agreeable. This will be across all contract & legal document forms (sales, supply, NDA’s, partner agreements, licensing etc).

As the sole commercial contracts & legal specialist for the business, this position will report to director level and will be an ideal opportunity to take a career step into a very visible role with ownership and autonomy.

Key role activity:
• Draft, review and negotiate all business contract forms (mainly from template but occasionally bespoke and non-standard)
• Develop, own, improve and roll-out contracts process, tools and documentation
• Lead direct legal contacts advice & input to Bids
• Provide general contractual admin and legal / contracts advice to all internal stakeholder groups

Salary – c.£45000 - £50000

Key experience required for Commercial Contracts Specialist (Legal) application:

• c. 2-5+ years proven experience in a dedicated legal / commercial contracts role
• Able to work independently and own contractual review, drafting, negotiation to ensure contracts are legally robust, risk mitigated and commercial advantages
• Experience in providing legal / commercial contracts SME (subject matter expert) advice to diverse internal stakeholder groups
• Familiar with UK and international contractual agreements and business interaction
• Ability to work at fast pace and balance competing demands
• Experience in the IT sector and software sales contracts / licencing agreements would be highly beneficial but in no way a pre requisite
• Ideally Legal / Law degree level qualified (LLB, LLM, LPC, CILEx).
(Other relevant degree and / or IACCM qualification with equivalent commercial & legal contracts experience as a commercial officer, contracts officer, contracts specialist, commercial paralegal, commercial contracts manager equally welcomed)
