A highly specialised design, manufacturing and aftermarket engineering services business seek a Commercial Contracts Manager (permanent part-time 3 days p/w basis) to lead UK & International customer contracts drafting, shaping, negotiation and execution in a newly created sole commercial manager position.
Salary – c.£60000 - £70000 pro-rata (neg. DOE) + excellent pension & benefits

An excellent opportunity for a CCM professional who may be interested in a part-time working basis to join a long-established business with excellent product & service reputation across its international aerospace, defence, marine and industrial customer sets. The business has international growth plans with backing and investment from a global parent company, yet still retains a specialised SME feel with personalised and engaged customer relationships.
The Commercial Contracts Manager will be permanently employed on a 3-day p/w basis with pro-rata salary + benefits and opportunity for a mix of Uxbridge office and remote, home working flexibility. Reporting to Director / MD level and beyond business as usual CCM responsibilities (contract review, drafting, negotiation & execution) for UK and international opportunities, this role will be empowered to add wider value by developing best practice improvement for commercial & contracting process.
A role suited to a Commercial Manager / Legal Contracts Manager with experience from the technical engineering / manufacturing sectors (ideally with exposure across civil and defence customer sets) who can to take ownership and implement their expertise in a sole CCM capacity.
Key Commercial Manager / Commercial Contracts Manager responsibilities:
- Work with BD & Sales teams to develop commercial structures for new bids, proposals and final contracts.
- Takes the lead in shaping, drafting, negotiating and agreeing all T&C’s and commercial elements within customer agreements to ensure they are risk mitigated and commercially advantageous
- Communicating obligations, risks and important contract matters to business teams, including working closely with Supply Chain colleagues to ensure flow down of relevant head contract obligations
- Taking the lead for customer related issues with regard to contractual & commercial matters (Pre and post-award stages)
- Providing advice, assistance and guidance on a wide range of commercial matters to members of the business team including Directors, Project Managers & functional team members and driving the development and implementation of commercial policy, procedure and practice
Qualifications and experience required:
- Proven experience in Commercial Manager / Commercial Contracts Manager / Legal Contracts Manager capacities.
- Specific CCM experience within industrial engineering / manufacturing environments
- Skilled across customer side, pre and post-award activity leading duel legal and commercial T&C’s: deal/contracts structuring, negotiation and administration
- In-depth working knowledge of payment methodologies and other contractual documentation
- A demonstrable record of working on complex bids and contracts for a variety of military and commercial/civil customers within the engineering, manufacturing or technical service sectors.
- Knowledge of UK and international defence contracting specifics would be an added benefit (ITAR, def cons and related flow downs etc).
- Good grasp of business strategy and a wide appreciation of general business issues beyond a strictly commercial / legal contracts remit
- Tenacious and driven with strong negotiating and influencing skills
- Solution-focused, analytical, insightful and innovative
- Law or business-related degree and/or IACCM qualification preferred (equivalent relevant CCM professional experience equally considered)
