A global engineering and technology consultancy seek a Commercial Contracts Manager with MOD, Defence or central Gov contracts experience across both customer pre-sale and subcontracts / procurement processes to join the business on a 12-month fixed term contract.
The Commercial Manager will join a division and business stream which delivers complex & high value ICT, technology & engineering consulting solutions across the Defence, Aerospace and central Government sectors for the UK and international domains.
The Commercial Contracts function provide subject matter expert advice and analysis of commercial & (legal) contractual risks in the business. The team commercially assess all bids and contracts, proving drafting as required, including creating appropriate subcontracts and flowing down prime contract terms as well as the review and drafting any pre-sales agreements and NDAs.
Commercial Manager / Contracts Manager responsibilities:
• Pre-sales and sales support including reviewing, negotiating and drafting contract terms.
• Running competitive procurements, including development of RFPs, scope of work, assessment criteria, drafting and negotiation of subcontract terms.
• Review and draft NDA’s / teaming agreements.
• Hands on ownership of all related contractual administration activity
Location – Bristol or north Hampshire
Role type – 12 month fixed term contract or P/T
Start date – January 2019
Salary – c. £65000 + benefits
Essential commercial / contracts / legal experience required:
• A demonstrable track record in commercial & legal contractual management as a commercial manager / contracts manager
• Experience in both commercial bids, sales (pre & post award) and procurement activities, including full contractual review, drafting and negotiation of contract terms with direct external stakeholder interface.
• Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to deal with complex commercial issues, analyse, interpret and draft contractual legal wording with a strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of contractual documents and structure used throughout the business cycle including NDAs, MOUs, teaming agreements, subcontracts.
Highly desirable / beneficial:
• Experience of UK MOD, defence and central government contracts forms and processes
• Knowledge of single source contracting / pricing regulations
• Knowledge of IP (intellectual property) and software licencing
This commercial manager / contracts manager role will require applicants to be eligible to qualify UK MOD SC level security clearance..
